F.A.Q.

How do you you make/color your art?
What programs do you use?

Could you draw a picture for me for free?
Do you take commissions?

Can I use your artwork in my own website?
Can I use your web-graphics or code in my own website?

How old are you, Silvestris?
Why is there a pentacle sign in some of your pictures?
Do you accept fanart?

I have a question that's not in here...

How do I create my art?
That depends. I do just about all my coloring on the computer, but the methods vary. Either I scan a sketch to use for reference and then color it, or I just do all the picture, sketch and all, directly on the computer. These days use a small Wacom Graphire tablet, but quite a bit of the art you find around here was mouse-colored. I still use the mouse when my tablet isn't working/available. Honestly, though, a tablet makes drawing a lot smoother and easier.

What programs do I use?
I do all my computer coloring in Corel Photopaint, version 9 for the past years. It has a few minimal bugs, but I still think it's a great version. Since 2006 I've also begun using Photoshop CS for my digital sketching. These days I use both programs simultaneously while working on a picture, to combine their strengths.

Will I draw a picture for you?
I get quite a lot of requests like this, but to tell the truth I simply don't have the time to draw for free. I sometimes take
commissions, though not often. Still, you're most welcome to contact me to see if we can work something out.

Do I take commissions?
Short answer is no. I sometimes do, when I need the money. Check the status for this service at the
Shop page.

Can you use my artworks in your own site?
Usually I don't mind people using my art in their own websites, as long as they follow my very simple copyright terms:
Just make sure to check the copyright information available for every image; it will usually tell you whether it's okay to use it or not. If unsure, better leave it be, or mail me and ask me about it.

Can you use my graphics in your site?
Graphics include layout, backgrounds and images shown on the pages of this site. The answer is no.
I put a lot of work into my graphics. Besides, honestly - wouldn't it be dead boring if all websites looked the same?

How old I am?
For some reason quite a lot of people ask me this. I don't know how important it is, but I don't mind telling. ;)
I was born July 19, 1979, which means I'm currently 29 years old.

Why is there a pentacle sign in some of my older pictures?
People have been asking about this, asking me if I'm a satanist or pagan or whatnot. However, the star has got nothing to do with my religious beliefs. A closer look will reveal that the star is part of a larger symbol; a symbol I used to watermark my artworks with way back. Not all my older artworks have been branded, but most are. These days I will include my signature and invisible watermarks instead.

If I accept others' fanart?
Well, I don't run a fansite, so I won't put any art you send me up in the galleries. The one exception is Pangaea fanart, which will be displayed in the
Pangaea Fanart Gallery, with full credit, if the artist allows it.

I have another question that's not on the page...
I don't bite. ;)
If there's something you want to ask me, go ahead and send me an
